Inspired by the French Rococo period with its decorative carved furniture, figurative silks and brocades and soft pastel palette, this style works particularly well in a bedroom setting. Its influences continue to be seen in fashion where soft silks and slipper satins are combined with delicate laces to create the most delicate of lingerie-inspired pieces for both day and evening wear.

The colours are derived from the pink palette but they are muted and subdued – cinnamons, old rose and dusky pink are combined with ivory and off white. This look is a continuation of the boudoir style that is a recurring trend in both interiors and fashion this season.
